About me

Hello I’m Sarah!

I’m a one on one Special Education Interium Teacher or SEIT! I specialize in working with children with severe and multiple disabilities!

“Oh you’re a SEIT? That means you do everything!”

Said to me by a fellow participant at a professional development seminar
What is a SEIT?

A specialized teacher

SEITs are a specialized part of the teacher world. Someone once said to me at a profressional development seminar, that if I’m a SEIT, it means I do everything. I have yet to find a better description. As a SEIT I have worked one on one with students with severe or multiple disabilities. My students have been homeschooled, in general education classes and everything in between. Some are verbal some are not, and I have worked with kids of all ages! It is my job to always work and learn new methods to work with kids. I used to be terrified when I would have to start a new style of intervention, or learn a new technique, but now I thrive off it! I want to help you learn new techniques, master collaborating with the rest of your team, and help you students grow and excell!

My first day working from home during the pandemic!
And this is my cat Sushi, a favorite of my students!

I LOVE TO TEACH GAMES OF ALL KINDS!

READING IS THE BEST THING TO SHARE WITH MY STUDENTS!

MY SUNDETNS’ WRITING BRINGS ME JOY!

Someday the books will take over the apartment.

My Journey

I got my bachelor’s from NYU in 2015 in Childhood Education and Childhood Special Education. While I was getting my master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, I started working with a child on the autism spectrum who was being homeschooled. I found I loved it and never wanted to stop. After I finished grad school I began working as a SEIT and have been fortunate enough to work with very dedicated people as we help students grow!
